Description
Vanilla Powder
Vanilla powder is a product made from whole vanilla beans that have been dried and processed into a powder.
It has a more intense vanilla flavor than vanilla extract and can be used not only in baking recipes but as a natural sweetener. Vanilla powder can be sprinkled on baked goods, added to coffee, or used to infuse pancake or waffle mixes. It is also a great alternative to vanilla extract when it comes to baked goods that can’t handle additional liquid, or using high-heat methods.
There are two types of vanilla powder: pure vanilla powder made from vanilla beans only, and vanilla sugar made from vanilla beans and sugar. The former has a richer flavor and aroma, while the latter has a sweeter and milder flavor. Vanilla powder is expensive and hard to find, but it can be made at home by dehydrating and grinding vanilla bean pods. Vanilla powder can last for up to two years in a cool, dry place, out of light.
